Dr. Zakaria

Introduction

I am Dr. Haridas saha, working as a fellowship trainee inTWMU, Tokyo, Japan. Before that long history of joining here from my country. In short probably first week of October 2016, I was informed from my Professor and Head Dr. AZM Mustaque Hossain if I could join a training program in Japan in Surgical Gastroenterology in TWMU. Instantly I agreed with my teacher but after going home and having a discussion with my family, made me confuse either join here or not. Then middle of October had a meeting with my professor, Dean and Principal Dhaka Medical College, Aleemuzzaman of JBMA by which I was selected to come to Japan in TWMU. Though there were lot of conflict and confusion, last of all I decided to come here leaving my family and lot of things behind. Now I feel it’s a great opportunity and privilege of me to join as a fellowship trainee in TWMU.

I am very grateful to JBMA Japan, International affairs of TWMU, Prof .Sakurai sensei, Iwata and Fumiko Daikukoku. Special gratefulness to Maiko for doing everything for me. Many many thanks to Dr. Zakaria Jubery without his guide I could not find anything. He also guided me what to do and not to do in Japan.
Finally that’s the ultimate Prof. Yamamoto sensei and department of Surgical Gastroenterology, he is kind, polite, gentle with humanity, arranged all the things for me.

Clinical activities in my department

Before going to the clinical session, early in the morning I met with Prof Yamamoto sensei and he gave me some important introduction that is still helpful for me. I showed my intention to work with Hepatobiliary and pancreatic unit. I feel honored as he gave permission to work there. Izumi sensei and Dr Satoshi arranged all other things for me.

I could not believe that I am going to see your all operative procedures. Your operation theatre environment is excellent and preoperative work up for a patient is remarkable as well as outstanding. I am going through imaging investigations of preoperative patients became amazed to see how you reached very inside of the diseases. Within these fifteen days I observed so many operative procedures both open and laparoscopic. First time in my life I saw liver transplantation from a living donor that was exciting for me. Sacrifice, commitments and devotions of the sensei, doctors, nurses and others to the patients were inexpressible. So many operations I observed here that was tremendously helpful for me, will inform all later on.

Academic activities

Every Tuesday and Thursday is our morning clinical session and journal presentations. Very second day of Journal presentations Prof Yamamoto sensei called me for myself introductions before the audience, I feel honored. I participated all that sessions. I also took part with my B1 team on morning round and the discussions regarding the patient’s managements.

Social and communications

On arrival in Japan I am experienced with very cold weather that was so scary for me. Already I enjoyed with food and environment of Japan. The people are very hard working, gentle and polite. Now I can speak some greeting Japan language.
