2024年10月 Dr. Md. Toriqul Islama からの Feedback Report
When this report reaches JBMA authority, I have already reached my country and started my regular activities. But I am still missing my cozy little room in the NMS international dormitory. I was on an International visiting fellowship program in Nippon Medical School, Tokyo from 03.06.2024 to 30.08.2024. It was an unbelievably wonderful journey full of great memories.
I entered Japan through Narita International Airport and reached my dormitory in Kanamachi with the help of a taxi ride. Though language was a barrier, the helpful attitude of all Japanese people made my journey easy from the first day. The dormitory was very organized with all necessary amenities. Hostel managers were very helpful and they addressed each and every small problem faced by me.
I joined NMS Hospital on 4th june and reported at first in the IEC Department. I met two ever smiling ladies Ms. Wang Shu and Ms. Osaki Hiroyo and their very helpful team. They guided us and helped us throughout the whole journey.
In NMS Hospital, all our faculties, trainee doctors, nurses and staff were very cordial and cooperative towards us. I want to convey special thanks to Professor Rei Ogawa Sensei, professor Tosa Sensei, Shimpei Ono Sensei, Umezawa Sensei, Dohi Sensei, Aoki Sensei, Akiyama Gou sensei and Akatsuki Kondo Sensei for their help and cordial gestures. I received immense help from my fellow colleagues like Dr. Aoki, Dr. Saya Odaka, Dr. Arika, Dr. Shazia, Dr. Hameed, Dr. Philip, Dr. Picoy, Dr. Meng, Dr. Long and many more. We attended routine surgery, outpatient consultation, in-patient rounds, lecture classes and weekly seminars. Among the surgeries, I was lucky enough to observe various regular surgeries and some surgeries which are less frequently performed in my country. I got the scope to see various burn surgeries, scar management, head-neck cancer, breast cancer surgery and breast reconstruction, hand surgeries, maxillofacial trauma reconstruction and some aesthetic surgeries. Among them lymphovenous anastomosis and hypopharyngeal/ esophageal reconstruction with free jejunal flap were totally new surgeries for me. Thanks to my surgical teachers who guided me and explained the tips and tricks of these surgeries.
NMS arranged a special microsurgery course for foreign faculties which was very effective for me.It got me confident to perform microsurgery in my plastic surgery career. Besides, the school arranged some special instructional lectures by local and foreign faculties. In this stay period, I got the scope to enjoy a welcome party, annual bar-b-q party, a trip to Disneysea Tokyo and some other dinner parties. In the weekends I tried to discover not only the surrounding areas of Tokyo but also various cities of Japan. I visited Kamakura, Enoshima, Odaiba, Atami beach, Hakone, Yokohama, Kyoto, Kobe and Hiroshima. I had various Japanese cuisines including Soba, udon, gyudon, sushi, sashimi, ramen, tempura, pizza, yakitori, traditional Bar-b-q and a lot of icecreams.
My whole Japan trip was full of academic experiences along with plenty of sweet memories. And I must say that, this experience could not be achieved by the assistance of JBMA. I want to convey my thanks and gratefulness from the bottom of my heart. I also request JBMA to continue this program for Bangladeshi doctors and play an important role in the modernization of medical science in Bangladesh.
