What is the purpose of the JBMA?

With a population of 140 million, Bangladesh has embarked on Bangladesh Vision 2021 to develop advanced specialty areas since 1991. This has resulted in an economical growth of approximately 6%. In Vision 2021, 15 topics related to health care are mentioned. The JMBA aims to support mission 15, which is to set the stage for advance medical care.

What are the plans for JBMA?

A formal program has been established between Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Tokyo Women’s Medical University Hospital in July 2012. Within this program, there will be 2 doctors from Dhaka Medical College Hospital going to Tokyo Women’s Medical University Hospital every year for one year of clinical training.  There will also be medical doctors from Tokyo Women’s Medical University going to Dhaka Medical College Hospital to teach clinical medicine and also to be involved in the health care of Japanese people living in Bangladesh.
