President’s Message

The Japan Bangladesh Medical Association was formed with the vision to promote advanced medical care in Bangladesh. Japan and Bangladesh has shared ties since 1971 when the country of Bangladesh was established and this relationship has flourished over the years with mutual support. Notably, the Bangladeshi people and government’s support in the most recent Great East Japan Disaster has been a tremendous source of courage for the Japanese people

Bangladesh currently faces many challenges of a growing nation and one is in the area of health care. Several NGO groups from Japan have reached out for aid but there is still a great deal of unmet need. Some Bangladeshi doctors have obtained clinical training in Japan and returned to their countries with advanced skills but many more are awaiting the opportunity

February 2012 marks the 40th anniversary of a diplomatic establishment between Japan and Bangladesh. Many Japanese companies are a part of the economical establishment between the two countries and with the generous support of these companies, our organization aims to offer the opportunity for young Bangladeshi doctors to receive clinical training in Japan. We hope that our efforts will enhance not only the health care for the people of Bangladesh but also for Japanese people living in Bangladesh
